Only The Brave. (Series 8, Episode 5). Ted has organised a late night trip to the cinema to see Bambi for April’s birthday, a mix up with the projectionist results in the showing of a war film – A Few Came Back.

Hi-de-Hi!: Drama: Tuesday 12th June: 1.40pm/5.40pm
Tell It To The Marines. (Series 9, Episode 1). In a moment of rash thinking Ted challenges the cocky sergeant of the army display team to a race over an assault course – Maplin’s versus the Army.  The local bookie is doing great business on the outcome so Ted decides to even up the odds with a few fiddles.

Hi-de-Hi!: Drama: Wednesday 13th June: 1.40pm/6pm
Marry-Go-Round. (Series 9, Episode 2). Spike is just not funny anymore and the campers are beginning to complain. Spike reckons it’s because he is worried over his engagement to April so the only solution seems to be a special marriage licence.

The Perils of Peggy. (Series 9, Episode 3). After finally being rejected by Gladys, Clive decides he wants to marry her after all but how does he go about working his way back into her favour?

Let Them Eat Cake. (Series 9, Episode 4). Ted pushes Alec Foster too far when he asks for a rise in wages and he is sacked, in his place is a new comic who has won Opportunity Knocks.

Man Trap. (Series 7, Episode 7). Gladys and Spike are livid that Joe Maplin has announced their engagement to the press as a publicity stunt, but Clive sees a way of using the situation as an excuse to spurn Gladys’s unwanted attentions.

Pigs Might Fly. (Series 8, Episode 1). Yvonne’s partner Barry has left her and she becomes a recluse in her chalet. Worried about the entertainments programme Gladys takes the initiative and sends for her substitute partner Julian Dalrymple-Sykes. Within hours Yvonne is ready to take the floor again.

The New Broom. (Series 8, Episode 2). Alec Foster, the new Camp Controller, is causing havoc at Maplin’s. He’s already sacked several staff for incompetence and when his attentions fall on the entertainment staff no one is safe.

Orphan of the Storm. (Series 8, Episode 3). Peggy has been sacked by Alec Foster, it seems that none of her friends can help her. Then rescue comes from an unexpected quarter.

God Bless Our Family. (Series 8, Episode 4). Clive’s family descend on the camp with the intent of trying to persuade him to return to the fold. They bargain without the culture shock of Maplin’s.

Who Killed Mr Partridge? (Series 7, Episode 3). Ted and Spike discover Mr. Partirdge’s body lying face down in the pool with a knife in his back. Who is the murderer and are they still at large?

Spaghetti Galore. (Series 7, Episode 4). It is Gladys Pugh’s birthday but she faces a dilemma, both Clive and Harold Fox have invited her out for a meal and she doesn’t want to upset either. Peggy comes to the rescue with her motorbike.


Hi-de-Hi!: Drama: Thursday 31st May: 1.40pm/6pm
A Lack Of Punch. (Series 7, Episode 5). The staff learn that they are to stand in as children’s entertainers for the rest of the season and Yvonne and Barry are the first to have a go with the playlet ‘Tuffet Tantrums’. Then Ted and Spike spot a smelly tramp entertaining kids on the beach, they think they’ve found the answer to their problems.

Ivory Castles in the Air.  (Series 7, Episode 6). Clive takes Gladys to see his family home and Gladys takes Clive to her heart.

Opening Day. (Series 6, Episode 3). The new season opens at Maplins and the entertainments staff head down to the station to meet the first lot of campers off the train.

Off With The Motley. (Series 6, Episode 4). Peggy is promoted to Stores Supervisor. Even with more money and responsibility she yearns to be back among the fun around the pool.


Hi-de-Hi!: Drama: Wednesday 23rd May: 1.40pm/6pm
Hey Diddle Diddle, Who’s On The Fiddle? (Series 6, Episode 5). Peggy finds a letter from Joe Maplin which seems to indicate that Clive has been given the job of entertainments manager to spy on the rest of the staff. They all have to be careful to conceal their fiddles.

Hi-de-Hi!: Drama: Thursday 24th May: 1.35pm/6pm
Raffles. (Series 6, Episode 6). Clive is badly in debt and when some thugs arrive threatening violence if the money is not repaid Clive begins to look at ways of getting money quickly.

Hi-de-Hi!: Drama: Friday 25th May: 1.45pm/6pm
It’s Murder! (Series 7, Episode 2). Mr. Partridge is causing havoc with his drunken antics and has just about upset everyone on the camp, in the meantime he goes missing leaving the staff in chaos.

The Graven Image. (Series 5, Episode 5). Joe Maplin orders the unveiling of a statue of himself at the camp. Problems arise when Spike gets very drunk and decides to liven up the statue on the night before the unveiling ceremony.

Peggy’s Penfriend. (Series 5, Episode 6). Peggy is excited about a visit from her long-term penfriend. The staff become suspicious of his motives and follow them to the sand dunes.

The Epidemic. (Series 5, Episode 7). Chads are breaking out all over the camp, what is worse Joe Maplin is expected at the camp for a lecture with Gilbert Harding. Can the staff stem the flow of chads before he arrives. NB: This episode marks Simon Cadell’s departure.

Hi-de-Hi!: Drama: Thursday 17th May: 1.40pm/6pm
Together Again. (Series 6, Episode 1). It is 1960 – a new season at Maplin’s Holiday Camp is about to commence. The staff arrive by train to prepare the camp for holiday makers.

Ted At The Helm. (Series 6, Episode 2). Ted thinks he is about to be offered the job as entertainment’s manager when he gets a summons to head office in London. Meanwhile a new face arrives at Maplin’s.

Concessions. (Series 5, Episode 1). As Barry and Yvonne dance to Diaghilev, Spike jokes to Pinocchio, Ted contrives to get in with the local council ‘Mr. Big’ to confound Joe Maplin’s plans to expand his empire.

Save Our Heritage. (Series 5, Episode 2). When a local cottage is faced with with destruction and it’s owner threatened with eviction to make way for an extension to the camp Jeffrey is incensed and rallies the staff into thwarting Joe Maplin’s plans.

Empty Saddles. (Series 5, Episode 3). Joe Maplin orders that Fred Quilly’s lame horses must be sent to the knackers-yard. It falls upon the entertainment staff to try to save the horses from their fate.

The Marriage Settlement. (Series 5, Episode 4). Jeffrey agrees to give his wife grounds for divorce which involves him hiring a professional co-respondent and seeking Peggy’s help

The Society Entertainer. (Series 4, Episode 4). Jeffrey decides that a change of voice on Radio Maplin would be a good idea. In the meantime Spike meets a femme fetale which results in a dramatic change in his outlook. Ted however has other ideas.

Sing You Sinners. (Series 4, Episode 5). Owing to the departure of the local vicar, Jeffrey finds himself conducting the Sunday half-hour. Needless to say he makes a hash of it.

Maplin Intercontinental. (Series 4, Episode 6). The annual Best Yellowcoat Competition has a very special prize this year – the winner will go to the new Maplin’s Holiday Camp in the Bahamas.

All Change. (Series 4, Episode 7). Joe Maplin appoints a supervisor of all Yellowcoats who requires a chalet all to herself, which throws the accomodation situation into chaos. She also takes an immediate like to Gladys and demotes her.

A Day In The Country. (Series 3, Episode 7) Lord Meldrum decides he is going to treat the servants to a picnic in the country, when they arrive at Peabody Hall they find that Sir Ralph and Lady Agatha are there with their staff too. What a coincidence, or is it?

You Rang, M’Lord?: Drama: Tuesday 1st May: 4pm
Yes Sir, That’s My Baby. (Series 4, Episode 1) Miss Cissy leads the house into helping out at the local soup kitchen for the poor. Teddy is still trying to escape the romantic clutches of Madge Cartwright, this time Alf thinks he has the prefect solution He traces all of Teddy’s illegitimate children and brings them to the house to face Madge.

You Rang, M’Lord?: Drama: Wednesday 2nd May: 4pm
Requiem For A Parrot. (Series 4, Episode 2) Lord Meldrum is intent on sending Teddy to his rubber plantation in Malayia. However the death of Lady Lavender’s parrot leads to some bizarre funeral arrangements.


You Rang, M’Lord?: Drama: Thursday 3rd May: 4pm
Come To The Ball. (Series 4, Episode 3) Lord Meldrum decides to inspect the servant’s quarters and Mabel has found a purse containing five pounds. Then the staff are invited to a luxurious ball where the employers have to wait upon their servants.

You Rang, M’Lord?: Drama: Friday 4th May: 4pm
The Truth Revealed. (Series 4, Episode 4) Sir Ralph sacks Selfridge, his butler, who in turn tells him of his wife’s long standing affair with George Meldrum. Sir Ralph sets out for revenge and the staff have to ensure that a mysterious “accident” doesn’t befall their master.

You Rang, M’Lord?: Drama: Tuesday 8th May: 4pm
The Fall Of The House Of Meldrum. (Series 4, Episode 5). Meldrum is convinced that Ralph has put a curse on him. The rubber plantation in Malaya has been ravaged by the Bang Go Khan beetle. The family face financial ruin!

You Rang, M’Lord?: Drama: Wednesday 9th May: 4pm
Well, There You Are Then…! (Series 4, Episode 6). Things look bleak for the Meldrums with most of their money lost on the stock market crash and the effects of the Bang Go Khan beetle. Cissy and Lavender try to save the situation but the servants have little choice but to look elsewhere for their futures…

A Matter Of Conscience. (Series 3, Episode 3). The local council decides to build a hospital next to Maplin’s Holiday Camp. Joe Maplin instructs the staff to thwart their plan by making as much noise as possible.

Hi-de-Hi!: Drama: Tuesday 24th April: 1.40pm/6pm
The Pay-Off. (Series 3, Episode 4). The local council are still determined to build the hospital next to Maplin’s. Joe sends a shoebox full of money to Jeffrey with instructions that he is to bribe the four councillors.

Hi-de-Hi!: Drama: Wednesday 25th April: 1.40pm/6pm
Trouble and Strife. (Series 3, Episode 5). Ted Bovis’s ex-wife turns up at the camp demanding the arrears of her maintenance. She has in tow a bailiff who presents Ted with a writ. Failure to pay could result in prison for Ted. He is forced to resort to all the fiddles he can remember in order to raise the money.

Stripes. (Series 3, Episode 6). After a secret visit to the camp, Joe Maplin decides that Gladys should be put in charge of the Yellowcoats.

Hi-de-Hi!: Drama: Friday 27th April: 1.40pm/6pm
Co-Respondent’s Course. (Series 4, Episode 1). Jeffrey Fairbrother’s wife sends her new boyfriend to ask Jeffrey for a divorce.  Since the professor is unwilling to co-operate he starts to dig for evidence.

Meet The Workers. (Series 3, Episode 4) Miss Poppy announces her engagement to Dickie Metcalfe but Alf smells a rat. Lord Meldrum is convinced that he must learn more about the lower classes before he can join the Board Of Governors at the BBC, so he invites his factory workers to dinner and serves them fish and chips.

Gretna Green Or Bust. (Series 3, Episode 5) Miss Poppy and Dickie Metcalfe decide to marry in secret and elope to Gretna Green, the rest of the household set off in hot pursuit to try and stop them.

A Night Of Reckoning. (Series 3, Episode 6) Twelvetrees gets an offer to be butler for Sir Ralph and Mabel is on the verge of being evicted from her home. Meanwhile Alf comes up with a drastic solution to Teddy’s problem.

Hi-de-Hi!: Drama (Freeview Channel 20)
Saturday 21 April at 5pm, 5:40pm and 6:20pm

This is one of the great British sitcoms from the writing team of Jimmy Perry and David Croft (who also gave us Dad’s Army), recreating the chaotic fun of a seaside holiday camp in the 1950s. There are some memorable characters in this show, including the fearsome Chief Yellowcoat Gladys Pugh (played by Ruth Madoc), the scatty chalet maid Peggy Ollerenshaw (Su Pollard) and Jeffrey Fairbrother (Simon Cadell), the Cambridge professor turned entertainment manager who struggles to resist Gladys’s amorous advances. In tonight’s episodes, Peggy gets her big chance to be a Yellowcoat and Jeffrey thinks the campers deserve some culture.

Nice People With Nice Manners. (Series 3, Episode 1). Yvonne and Barry, the ballroom dancers, invite the staff to a party. However they only invite staff they feel are “socially acceptable”, but when Peggy mixes up the invitations they get more than they bargained for!

Carnival Time. (Series 3, Episode 2). Joe Maplin insists that the staff take part in the Town Carnival by putting in a float. Spike has the job of producing the tableau.

The Meldrum Vases. (Series 2, Episode 4) Alf has hidden some money in one of his Lorship’s antique vases, Unfortunately Lord Meldrum has donated three identical vases to the Bishop’s charity auction for distressed gentlewomen, James and Ivy are in a race to stop Alf retrieving the money.

You Rang, M’Lord?: Drama: Tuesday 17th April: 4pm
The Wounds Of War. (Series 2, Episode 5) To protect his employer, Alf tells Sir Ralph that Meldrum was wounded in the Artilley. Ivy is over the moon when James agrees to take her to the pictures Mrs Lipton is convinced that Alf’s divorce is being held up by his wife.

Stranger In The Night. (Series 2, Episode 6) James in embarrassed when his father arrives at the house on the run from the police. The servants decide to hid him until they can arrange for him to flee the country.

Royal Flush. (Series 2, Episode 7) Excitement runs through the household when it’s announced that the King and Queen of Dalmatia are coming to dinner, although Mrs Lipton is upset when she finds out she will not be doing the catering. In addition, Noel Coward is expected to join them after the opening night of his new play.

You Rang, M’Lord?: Drama: Friday 20th April: 4pm
Please Look After The Orphans. (Series 3, Episode 1) Alf is being pestered by Mrs Lipton to finalise his divorce so he gets an old music hall friend to agree to pose as Mrs Stokes. Meanwhile he has a brain wave to make some money by fooling Mrs Litpton into baking some cakes which she thinks are destined for the local orphanage.
