Hi-de-Hi! star Su Pollard gives support to Lauderdale House’s £2.1million restoration campaign
The star of 1980s sitcom Hi-de-Hi! has given her support to a £2.1million fundraising campaign to restore a historic Highgate house.
Su Pollard, who played chalet maid Peggy Ollerenshaw in the BBC show, gave a talk at Lauderdale House in Highgate Hill to support the 16th-century mansion’s restoration campaign, Lauderdale Transformed.
The actress, who is well known for her outlandish dress sense, spoke to West End actor Tim McArthur about her other television roles earlier this month, including on sitcom You Rang, M’Lord?.
She also gave the audience an insight into her singing career, during which she scored a number two hit in 1986 with Starting Together.

TV skating star – and local lad – Daniel Whiston is the latest name added to the bill for this year’s Blackpool pantomime.
Daniel will play the Prince in Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs at the Grand Theatre this festive season.
Already well known locally and in skating circles, Dan became a household name when he joined the professional line-up for ITV show Dancing On Ice.
Blackpool-born Daniel made an instant impact and was the show’s most successful skater – taking the title three times with his celebrity partners Gaynor Faye, Blackpool’s own Hayley Tamaddon and Beth Tweddle. He’s joining the previously announced cast of actress Su Pollard and panto favourite, comedian Steve Royle.
